Fawns in City Park Areas

This is the time of year that you may see an unattended fawn in a park area within the city and it is important that they should never be touched or handled.  Newborn fawns have little scent so predators can't find them easily, and the mothers sometimes leave the baby fawn alone so that her scent doesn't attract predators.  The mother will become very protective and possibly attack if someone is too close to the fawn when she returns. If a fawn is injured or in immediate danger, call a Wildlife Rehabilitator or Fish and Wildlife.
